Earlier on Friday, we covered a claim made by journalist Saber Desfarges that the deal to take Lille’s Amadou Onana to Everton is ‘almost completed’ after the two clubs reached an agreement for the transfer.

This is now further backed up by another journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, who has provided more information on this case.

He states Everton will pay €36m plus an additional €5m bonuses to the Ligue 1 side to sign the midfielder. Lille will also receive 20 percent of any fee from the player’s future sale.

With regards to the length of the contract, Tavolieri states the Belgium international will sign a five-year deal with the Toffees. The 20-year-old is ‘waiting for the final green light’ to take the first flight to Manchester either today or tomorrow.

Frank Lampard’s side will take on Chelsea in their first league game of the new season at Goodison Park on Saturday. The journalist states Onana ‘wants to see’ this tie, likely from Everton’s home stadium.
