The Dutch media today reports that Leeds United are about to complete the signing of Joel Piroe from Swansea City.
The first source to come up with the news is Voetbal International, claiming the player is about to join the Whites on a deal worth around €13m.
It’s claimed that Swansea City were actually keen on extending Piroe’s contract, but he ‘ignored’ it and chose to move to Leeds.
According to Voetbal International, ‘only the medical examination’ currently stands on the way of the transfer.
The move was then reported by Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink.
On Twitter, the reporter claims that Piroe is now about to make a ‘wonderful transfer’ between English clubs.
He says that Leeds and Swansea City have agreed to a deal worth €14m. Since the Dutch side PSV had the percentage from a future sale, they’re also benefitting from the deal.
Piroe is leaving the Welsh side with 46 goals and eight assists in 96 appearances. He’d been signed from the Eredivisie side on a €1.17m deal in 2021, meaning that’s some quick profit made after just two years.
