Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been left unmoved by reported interest from Newcastle United and even annoyed by ‘whispers’ of Arsenal wanting him too.
That’s according to Il Mattino, who cover the player today and say Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to renew the forward’s contract amid the interest in him.
Kvaratskhelia was one of the stars of the show for Napoli last season, managing 14 goals and 17 assists in 43 games in total and shining in both Serie A and the Champions League.
That did not go unnoticed around Europe and numerous reports this summer have subsequently linked him with a big money move away from the Serie A champions.
Arsenal and Newcastle have found themselves drawn into the mix at various points, although the reality is that neither ever seemed likely to spend the massive sums needed to sign the player from Napoli.
And now Il Mattino states the player wouldn’t even be keen on the possible transfers even if they were to be offered to him, as his commitment to Napoli is total.
‘He doesn’t think about it, he doesn’t say anything,’ they write about the Georgian.
‘His salary weighs around 1.5 million euros (gross) in the balance sheet of the blue club. And his performance is stellar.
‘He didn’t falter when he learned of Newcastle and the interest of the English club owned by the PIF.
‘He is annoyed by the new whispers that speak of Arsenal: for Napoli he is untouchable, he always has been. For everyone, the answer will be that he is non-transferable.’
