Sampdoria midfielder Ronaldo Vieira is set to undergo a medical tomorrow ahead of completing a move to Sheffield United.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the player’s time in Italy can now be ‘virtually considered over’.

Vieira has been linked with a move to Sheffield United for the last few weeks, with it reported in England he had flown from Italy to isolate in Leeds ahead of a medical.

It was stated he was likely to undergo that at the weekend, but CM say otherwise in their coverage of the move today.

They say that Sampdoria have ‘reached an agreement’ with Sheffield United for the midfielder, who is currently in England ahead of the move.

He’s scheduled to undergo medical examinations and sign his contract with the Blades on Friday, although the ‘formula’ of the deal is yet to be determined.

However, reports in England have indicated that Sheffield United will be signing Vieira on loan with a purchase obligation at the end of it.

That remains to be seen, but in the meantime, it appears the midfielder is scheduled for an appointment with the club Friday to undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on the contract.
