Fabricio Bruno’s transfer to West Ham United is now off, according to the the Brazilian media.
Journalist Venê Casagrande reports that the player has given up on the move, having rejected the Hammers’ offer for personal terms.
West Ham had an agreement with Flamengo to sign the centre-back for €13.5m plus €1.5m in bonuses.
In the past couple of days, the local press had been saying that the player was not satisfied with the personal terms offered by the Hammers.
Indeed, earlier today we covered a report from Globo Esporte, explaining that West Ham had offered him a contract until the summer of 2028 which was not much better than the one he has at Flamengo until December 2028.
The player was reportedly thinking about the situation carefully, knowing he’d spend much more to live in London than in Rio de Janeiro, so essentially be worse off, and faced the prospect of spending time away from his family.
Since it was his dream to move to Europe, it was claimed that he and his entourage were hopeful of new conditions being offered by West Ham, who were actually claimed to be in their limit.
Now it seems the Hammers really didn’t raise their offer, and should look for someone who matches their budget.
