Juventus defender Federico Gatti turned down an approach from Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window and is now set for a new contract with the Italian giants instead.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Calciomercato, who report that the defender ‘only thinks of Juventus’ and because of that turned down Nottingham Forest in the winter window.
The newspaper reports that Nottingham Forest were willing to offer the defender a ‘much more profitable contract’ than what is being proposed by Juventus, and they were willing to spend ‘significant sums’ to sign him.
The Italian, though, is completely focused on Juventus and wants to stay at the club for as long as possible. Thus, he turned down the approach from Nottingham Forest.
Tuttosport say the potential deal never really progressed as Gatti refused to get ‘into the heart of the matter’ or offer up any encouragement to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
They were instead rejected out of hand, and he’s now instead set to sign a new contract renewal at the club to extend his stay further after joining them in 2022 from Frosinone.
