It appears Weston McKennie is doing his best to get Leeds to sign him permanently, if report from Italy are to be believed.
The USA international is currently on loan from Juventus after a deal was struck in January, and a €34.5m option to buy was included in it, which the Elland Road side are now looking at.
Corriere dello Sport are the ones reporting it, and it’s claimed that after his good performance for his national team in the 7-1 win over Grenada, during which the midfielder scored two goals, ‘will not have gone unnoticed’ in Leeds.
It’s also worth pointing out the 24-year-old has been an important part of the Leeds squad since his arrival, as Javi Gracia has been using him every game in some shape or form.
The report says the player ‘tries to convince’ the Yorkshire side to buy him permanently, and it remains to be seen whether or not he achieves it.
Regardless, there’s a lot that needs to happen between now and the end of the season, with Leeds still in a relegation battle, only two points above the relegation zone despite sitting 14th in the table.
