In the past couple of weeks, while Crystal Palace were linked to Getafe goalkeeper David Soria, it’s been claimed that Vicente Guaita could be used in the exchange.
As part of the deal for the Eagles’ new signing, it was said the 36-year-old could be returning to his former club in Spain.
Faro de Vigo now shares a story about Celta Vigo’s summer targets, and Guaita is one of them… showing the interest is more widespread.
It’s claimed the Spaniard ‘tries to close his stage’ at Crystal Palace in this transfer window, while the La Liga club want a new goalkeeper to fight for a starting place.
Still, Celta aren’t the only club after him, as the interest from Getafe and even Valencia is also mentioned.
With 28 appearances for Crystal Palace last season, Guaita had been their number one until April, and then saw Sam Johnstone take his place.
His contract with the Eagles runs until the end of next season, and with clubs interested in him, it seems the London side have a good chance to find a deal for his departure.
