Celtic want to add Feyenoord’s Jordan Lotomba to Martin O’Neill’s squad and have made a concrete approach.
O’Neill side have identified the right-back as a new target at this stage of the window and have already made advances.
Celtic in talks with Feyenoord
Voetbal International reports Celtic’s attempt to sign the 27-year-old.
The Dutch window is open until Wednesday, a day before the one in Scotland closes. This means Martin O’Neill’s side have less than 48 hours to sign Jordan Lotomba.
Celtic have taken action to sign the Switzerland international by submitting an offer to the Eredivisie side on Tuesday. The talks between the two clubs are ongoing.
There’s no mention of the details of the proposal, while the player is open to a move to Glasgow.
Although the Scottish window is open until Thursday, Celtic want to sign a new right-back today.
The Feyenoord player is their priority target, and he’s also open to a move. The fullback is waiting for the Glasgow club and Feyenoord to find an agreement.
Feyenoord paid around €2.5m to sign him from OGC Nice in September 2024. Prior to this, Burnley had reportedly failed to sign the fullback after making an approach.
Second source backs up Celtic offer
1908.nl on Wednesday have come up with a fresh update and it’s positive for Celtic. Their title says the Swiss is travelling to Scotland to finalise his move to the Glasgow club.
After Martin O’Neill’s side tabled an offer on Tuesday, they have been negotiating with Feyenoord. The two clubs are likely to have found an agreement in principle.
The outlet adds Celtic and the Dutch club are now sorting out the last details of the deal and there’s confidence the defender’s move will go through.
Jordan Lotomba will travel to Glasgow on Wednesday and will undergo medical tests and other transfer formalities to complete his move to Celtic.
The two reports don’t mention the details of the personal terms or the fee proposed by Celtic.
