Santos youngster Angelo Gabriel is set to soon complete his move to Chelsea.
According to Brazilian outlet Gazeta Esportiva, the player is travelling to England on Wednesday.
Angelo is set to have his medical in London and then sign his contract with Chelsea.
The report says the expectation is that he joins the Blues’ squad for their pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino.
With the Blues still to make the transfer official, they obviously haven’t commented on whether they’ll keep him in the squad for the coming season or not.
There’s actually been some conflicting claims about that. Even though initial reports from Brazil said Mauricio Pochettino would give the player the chance to prove himself in pre-season and maybe he could stay as part of the squad, other stories claimed it’s already decided that the 18-year-old will be joining Strasbourg on loan.
Angelo has shown big potential but is surely not fully ready for the Premier League yet, so a loan would make sense.
