On December 23rd, we relayed news from France that West Ham United are in the picture to sign Layvin Kurzawa and he ‘absolutely wants’ to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the winter market.

Fast forward to Monday, the deadline day of the January window, and the 29-year-old has still not managed to get a move away from the Ligue 1 side.

The left-back came off the bench in PSG’s defeat to Lille in the Trophée des Champions last August and that’s the only appearance he has made for the Paris club this season.

Foot Mercato now claim Mauricio Pochettino has not included the Frenchman in his plans at Parc des Princes this campaign. Napoli and Chelsea were rumoured to be interested in the defender, but neither of them came forward to sign him this month.

It’s ‘more than likely’ that England could be the fullback’s new home, where he is ‘tracked’ by the Hammers. As per the report, David Moyes’ side ‘would like to have the services’ of the defender for the second half of the season.

West Ham are joined by Newcastle United in the chase for the player. It now remains to be seen if Kurzawa will accept one of these two clubs and make a switch to the Premier League.
