It shouldn’t take long until Crystal Palace and Flamengo confirm the transfer of Matheus França, and the player seems to be getting ready for that.
As reported by Lance, he’s thrown a farewell party ahead of his move to London.
It’s claimed that França gathered family and friends to say goodbye before he flies to sign for Crystal Place.
The attacker was even seen in a video with a short speech about the transfer.
“It’s a farewell, but I will always be a little bit in everyone’s heart, and everyone will be a little bit in my heart,” he said.
Lance recall that Crystal Palace had first tried with a €15m bid. They recently raised it to €20m plus bonuses, and Flamengo ended up accepting that offer.
According to journalist Venê Casagrande, there’s €5m in performance bonuses and another €5m in case França wins the Ballon d’Or.
The Brazilian club are also keeping 20% of a future transfer.
It had recently been claimed that since the talks between Crystal Palace and Flamengo started, the player had been used less by manager Jorge Sampaoli, and it all makes sense now.
On Instagram, former Arsenal and Chelsea defender David Luiz also posted a picture with França, wishing him good luck.
