The 26-year-old returned to Spain in the hope of regular playing time, after being overlooked by Mark Hughes in the opening games of the season.

Joselu has been speaking to Spanish newspaperMarca, and was asked about the last minute transfer deal.

He said: “It was a little crazy, but in the end we could meet the target. I had just landed in Madrid and had to be very fast, but we got to the point that it could be performed.

“Now that everything is done, I’m eager to help the team with goals and work.”

Joselu could make his debut for Deportivo La Coruna this weekend when they face Atheltic Club Bilbao in La Liga.

The 26-year-old signed for Stoke City at the start of last season in a €8m deal from Bundesliga side Hannover, and managed to score 4 goals in 22 league appearances.
