On Thursday, we’ve covered a story from A Bola saying there’s an extra motivation for William Carvalho to keep his head up and do well for Sporting.
The Portuguese newspaper claimed that after the transfer to West Ham collapsed, the player met the club president Bruno de Carvalho, who made sure to motivate him and give him the captain’s armband.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã has a story today which backs up this info, and includes that Sporting are actually paying William a bonus for staying at Alvalade.
They don’t say how much the amount will be, but the player will be paid to stay motivated as the club shows how important he is for them.
But here comes the twist: William still wants out. He would fancy a January move, to a more competitive league, where he could get a bigger salary.
Carvalho has long held a dream to player in the Premier League, and West Ham almost made that come true.
So just like happened with Neymar earlier this year, the midfielder could get a loyality bonus and then walk somewhere else, which could even be West Ham, in case the club decides to pay for his release clause.
We’d pay to see Bruno de Carvalho’s reaction to that.
