At this time of the year, the Portuguese media seem to have people camped out airports, waiting to see which footballers are coming and going and what that means for their future.

On Monday, that saw Diogo Jota pounced upon as he arrived in the country, and he gave comments which suggested he’s not 100% certain about his Wolves future.

The club have announced they’ll use their option to sign the player permanently, but Jota isn’t taking anything for granted until he’s signed the paperwork.

This morning, it’s Rui Patricio who has arrived at Lisbon airport, this time for an exit. Portugal’s Spor TV, via Record, report the Sporting goalkeeper arrived at 7.30am on his own, with the insinuation that means it’s transfer related. If he was going on a quick break before the World Cup then his family would be with him.

Patricio refused to comment on why he was there, which will have further encouraged transfer speculation. Record bring up Napoli interest, and point out there’s a flight to Rome at 9am.

Wolves have also been strongly linked, with it being claimed in Portugal the club are considering a big offer, and that Jorge Mendes is right in the middle of proceedings.

With Napoli haggling over price, the Wolves option became more prominent.

We couldn’t resist checking… there are also several flights to London this morning.

But then don’t footballers do these things via private jet?
