West Ham United have made an attempt to sign AS Monaco’s Saïmon Bouabré this summre.
That’s according to Friday’s edition of Nice-Matin, and they report why West Ham will miss out on the 19-year-old.
Bouabré joined Ligue 1 club’s academy in 2021 and was promoted to their first team in 2024.
He played only five games for the senior team, but it hasn’t stopped him from attracting interest from West Ham, Neom SC and others.
The Saudi Arabian club are set to win the battle for the attacking midfielder’s signature. They are offering €10m plus €2m bonuses and Monaco retain a 20% sell-on clause.
His impending move is said to have ‘generated a lot of buzz’, but the newspaper says it can be justified.
They report West Ham, Paris FC and Marseille have all shown interest in the France U20 international. However, the youngster has snubbed these clubs to make a switch to the Middle East.
That’s because the newspaper reports the youngster can multiple his salary 10X by joining Neom SC. In short, the money was just too good.
