For as long as we can remember, Newcastle United have been reportedly interested in signing Nabil Fékir from Real Betis.
There have been many articles written on the subject, and yet despite promises of an offer being made, nothing ever happens.
Despite this, the idea that Newcastle could move for the Frenchman hasn’t disappeared, with talk from England that the Magpies will come forward in January circulating.
However, as tends to be the case, the media in Spain, at least the slightly more reasonable ones, try and distance themselves from such claims, as Fékir is happy where he is.
This is what Estadio Deportivo do on Monday, looking at what has been said on this side of the Channel about the 29-year-old, who is an alternative for James Maddison.
Despite this, the outlet claim that according to sources ‘close to the world champion’, the ‘response remains the same’.
This is that ‘he doesn’t want to move from Seville’, where is comfortable at a club that meets what he wants from his career at this stage and where he is happy.
Sometimes, that’s better than all the money in the world, which we’re sure Newcastle could offer him, and Estadio Deportivo make it very clear that a move away, right now, is ‘impossible’.
