It appears the official announcement for Kalidou Koulibaly’s transfer to Chelsea is right around the corner.

Desperately needing some new centre-backs following the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger, the Blues moved relatively quickly to sign the Senegal international.

With just one year left on his contract at Napoli, the defender is finally getting his transfer to the Premier League.

Gianluca Di Marzio brings the latest on the matter, revealing that Koulibaly has now ‘signed’ his Chelsea contract and is ‘now going to fly for the USA’, where he will be joining his new teammates.

The deal taking the player from Napoli to Stamford Bridge is believed to be of around €40m, which remains a hefty fee considering his contractual situation in the south of Italy.

Still, Chelsea are getting an experienced player, who many see as made for Premier League football, which is something we’ll soon be able to see for ourselves.
