West Ham target Kaio Jorge has made it clear that his focus remains fully on Cruzeiro despite the growing noise around him.
Speaking to CazéTV in Brazil, the 23-year-old striker stressed both his happiness in Belo Horizonte and his desire to stay put, even as speculation about a move abroad intensifies.
“I really want to stay at Cruzeiro. Everyone knows I am very happy here. Today, I don’t think about going abroad, even with all the speculation. Soon there may be proposals, but I am very happy here and hope to continue for a long time,” he said.
His comments come at a time when Premier League side West Ham have been credited with strong interest.
As reported recently in Brazil, the Hammers even signalled they could pay €25m, though Cruzeiro were quick to make it clear they would only consider negotiations starting from at least €30m, and with the striker’s form, that figure is expected to rise further.
For now, Kaio Jorge is leading the scoring charts in both the Brasileirão and the Copa do Brasil, and with Cruzeiro holding 100% of his rights, the club are in a strong position.
The striker’s own words now add to that stance, with no immediate pressure from his side to leave. What happens when the January market opens, however, remains to be seen.
