Following a summer exit from Tottenham, midfielder Jamie Bowden is set to have a trial at Deportivo La Coruña.
Spanish outlet AS today writes that the 22-year-old will spend ‘a few days’ at the La Liga side to get tested by them.
Deportivo reportedly want to know if he’s in good physical shape, as one of the reasons for his exit from Tottenham were the injuries he had last season.
Last season, he missed most games due to an ankle injury, having only made four appearances for Spurs’ U-21 squad.
AS writes that Bowden was ‘one of the most promising players’ in Tottenham’s academy, and that’s why Deportivo are actually excited about the chance to test him.
The Spanish club are looking for more signings in the summer window, and that’s seen as an actual chance of getting a reinforcement for free.
Bowden had played for Tottenham since he was a kid, and was even selected for Spurs’ first-team bench a few times. Now despite the lack of a chance in England, it seems he may have an opportunity to prove himself in Spain.
