Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow will fly to Southampton on Sunday after the Dutch side’s derby clash with Sparta Rotterdam.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who report that Southampton have struck an €8m deal to sign the goalkeeper.
De Telegraaf report that Bijlow is due to fly to Southampton on Sunday to sign his contract with the Saints after the clash against Sparta.
He has been sidelined at the Dutch club by new manager Brian Priske and so is seeking an exit. He’s long wanted to play in the Premier League and Southampton are offering it to him.
They’ve already struck an €8m agreement with Feyenoord for the goalkeeper after talks over the last few days.
Thus, Bijlow will sit on the bench for the clash with Sparta, which had been reported elsewhere in the Netherlands today, before then heading to Southampton to finalise his move.
He is heading to the South Coast intending to become their number one and, in turn, win back his place as number one for the Netherlands.
Southampton boss Russell Martin has specifically targeted the goalkeeper for his ability with the ball at his feet and sees Bijlow as an ideal addition to continue playing the style that made them a success in the Championship last season.
