As newspaper O Jogo today writes about the future of a few Portuguese players, they bring some good news for those who want to see more of Diogo Dalot at Manchester United.

According to their report, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been ‘impressed’ with the fullback and could stay in the Red Devils’ first team squad for this season.

It’s said Dalot ‘responded to the manager’s trust’ in the friendly against Everton last weekend, and added to his good performances in training, that could guarantee his future at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old would then fight for a place against Aaron Wan-Bissaka, or even Luke Shaw and Alex Telles in case he turns out to be an option for the left-back position.

O Jogo claims that the change in this scenario has been cooling down the interest from Milan, who had Dalot on loan last season. The Rossoneri are now set to look for other targets, such as Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi.

Diogo Dalot has a contract with Manchester United running until 2024. He joined the club in a €22m move from Porto, and has made 35 appearances for the Red Devils so far.
