Sergio Reguilón is managing to save himself at Manchester United, with his loan spell proving to be a hit so far.
That’s according to AS, who say ‘Old Trafford saves’ the Tottenham man, who has been one of the few bright points according to them.
The full-back arrived at Manchester United at the end of the transfer window, signing on loan from Tottenham as cover for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, who had both been ruled out through injury.
He’s been a regular for them since and AS say the full-back, who has endured a miserable few years at Tottenham and then on loan at Atletico Madrid, has ‘responded creditably’ to the task in front of him.
They say he’s been ‘one of the few positives’ at the club at the beginning of this season, which has not gone to plan and led to both criticism and plenty of pressure.
He’s not only shown a ‘good level of football’ but also ‘character’ on the field and this is winning people over at Manchester United, where he has ‘quickly gained weight’ in the hierarchy.
He is aware of this and that is why he was first on the scene to help up Andre Onana following his mistake against Bayern Munich before then publishing a rallying cry on social media after the defeat.
It seems the Tottenham loanee is determined to make his loan spell at Manchester United a successful one, and perhaps secure a permanent move from Tottenham, something AS believe he is well on the way to doing.
