Ruben Vinagre is about to leave Hull City, according to reports from Portugal.
Outlets such as A Bola and O Jogo report that Sporting are set to take him back and send him out to Hellas Verona.
The Serie A side will sign Vinagre on a loan deal with an option to buy, with the amount for the purchase still being negotiated.
The fullback had been loaned by Sporting to Hull City last summer, and he even made 11 appearances for the Tigers this season. However, he’d been rarely getting any minutes on the pitch recently.
Vinagre, who used to belong to Wolverhampton Wanderers, is still 24 and has been through several clubs. Besides his time at Belenenses, Sporting and Monaco academies, he also played for Wolves, Olympiacos, Famalicão, Everton and Hull City.
It’s Wolves who’ll probably keep an eye on his spell in Italy, because when agreeing for him to leave for Sporting in 2022, they kept 50% of a future transfer. So they can only hope he does well in Serie A and gives them some money in the summer.
