On Thursday, Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos made a post on Instagram saying he’s had his visa approved, thanking the professionals who helped him with that.
Due to the lack of a work permit for the Premier League, the player is currently having a loan spell at Vasco da Gama, hoping he’ll be able to feature for Chelsea next season.
His post was enough for outlets such as O Dia to get confused about what was going on and claim Andrey now has the ‘work visa’ to play for Chelsea.
However, Globo Esporte turn up to explain that the player actually got his visa for the United States. That’s to allow him to take part in the Blues’ pre-season in the US.
Andrey Santos’ loan at Vasco runs until the end of the month, and there are two more games until then. Now since he was unavailable for their last match due to an injury, it isn’t known if he’ll be featuring in those matches.
The midfielder will then be free to join Chelsea, and maybe with his work permit approved, will be able to play in the Premier League.
