Leicester City are about to complete the signing of Sporting winger Issahaku Fatawu, according to reports from Portugal.
Newspaper A Bola writes that the clubs found an agreement on Thursday and he should travel to make the move in the coming hours.
The story claims that Leicester City are initially signing Fatawu on a loan deal, and will have an option to purchase him for €15m at the end of the season. In that case, Sporting would keep the percentage of a future transfer.
The 19-year-old wasn’t in the plans that Lions’ boss Ruben Amorim had for the season, and his move to the Foxes is now seen as a solved issue at the Portuguese club.
A Bola highlights that Leicester City had been interested in Fatawu for a long time, and the negotiations got intensified lately.
The chance of playing in English football is seen as a great opportunity for him, even if it’s in the Championship at first.
Featuring for the Lisbon side’s first team, the winger only had 12 appearances, with no goals and one assist made, meaning this is a big step up for the player, who might have to wait a little bit before getting regular minutes under Enzo Maresca.
