The Italian media is now more sure that Chelsea midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko’s move to Newcastle United is a real possibility.

Even though the player is currently loaned to Milan, his deal with the Rossoneri is about to be rescinded, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

On his website, it’s said the Serie A giants are working on the player’s departure and the termination of his Milan contract ‘could arrive’ on Wednesday morning.

And it turns out that Milan are not the only club letting him go, as Bakayoko is set to ‘end the relationship’ that he has with Chelsea (his current deal ties him there until 2024) and become a free agent in the final days of the transfer market.

Di Marzio then claims that it’s still ‘to be understood’ whether Monza ‘will be serious’ for his signing, or if the player will move back to the Premier League, where Newcastle are keen on his signing.

The Magpies’ interest had been revealed by the Italian media in the past few days, and although the previous reports said Eddie Howe’s side would need to find a deal with Chelsea, it now seems an agreement with the player could be enough.
