In March, we covered claims from Spain which stated Tottenham Hotspur are ‘serious’ about signing of Dani Rodriguez from Barcelona.
It was claimed Spurs are hopeful of convincing the player to join them in the summer, when his contract with the Camp Nou giants expires.
As Mundo Deportivo shares a new story on Rodriguez’s future, there’s actually some interesting news for Tottenham.
Even though Barcelona have an unilateral option to extend his contract for a couple of years, it’s said the hope had always been to find a friendly agreement.
His agent Pini Zahavi is in charge of the operation, and neither he nor the player are rushing to take a decision yet. They want to wait for the end of the season and see the proposals on the table.
Tottenham don’t get a mention this time, with Real Sociedad and Athletic Club Bilbao being the clubs who’ve been in touch, given the player is Basque, although Spurs would certainly have good arguments to battle those clubs.
