Erik Lamela’s move from Tottenham Hotspur to Sevilla is working out very well for both the Argentine and his new club.

There’s been repeat reports in the Spanish media about how good the deal is going for Sevilla, and how they perhaps got the better of Tottenham in the transfer business between the clubs in the last window.

Lamela has scored three goals and added two assists in 421 minutes so far for his new side. He’s very happy with the switch, and both he and the club have spoken about how well things have been going.

Such is his happiness with the season so far, the 29-year-old has even explained he’s now in the prime of his career, and that his experiences at Spurs and elsewhere helped to set him up to be able to perform at the level he is right now.

AS quote the player as saying: “I feel in the best moment of maturity. All these years have served me as an experience to grow as a player and a person. I am at a time when I feel in this place, and I am excited. I am happy to be here and to take advantage to play football.”

Lamela also explained he’s been welcomed very well since arriving from Tottenham, and said it’s nice to have compatriots around him: “They welcomed me very well when I arrived. I knew many of them from many years ago and being here is something very nice. I have a very good relationship with the whole team, they welcomed me. They’re all great. It’s an incredible group of people and as long as there are Argentines, all the better. It’s a very supportive team. It’s something that in the end will give us a lot of satisfaction.”
