Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi ‘has said yes’ to a move to Tottenham but the two clubs are ‘distant’ in terms of a transfer fee.
That’s according to Tutto Atalanta, who say the Italian side want ‘at least €20m’ if they are to sell the player this summer.
The website reports that Tottenham would like to sign Malinovskyi on loan with a right to buy included but Atalanta aren’t interested in that.
Instead, they would prefer to ‘monetise his transfer’ immediately and if they cannot secure this, at least do a loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause included rather than an optional one.
Malinovskyi has already approved the transfer and Atalanta are willing to let him go as well, but they want to do so on their terms rather than Tottenham’s.
Thus, the two clubs are ‘distant’ at this moment in time but Atalanta’s willingness to at least negotiate a loan deal means there is room for them to get closer.
For now, though, talks are needed if Tottenham are to get this one over the line in the next two weeks.
