In recent weeks, we’ve been covering multiple reports from Italy on the future of Federico Chiesa.
Wednesday saw claims which stated that whilst Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs to have expressed interest in the Juventus attacker, they haven’t moved concretely forward. Arsenal were also said to have entered the picture, and now around half the Premier League have been linked with him.
CalcioNapoli24 report the SportMediaSet editorial team have made claims on air about the player and Tottenham.
They’re said to have revealed: ‘Chiesa will say goodbye to Italy, he won’t go to Roma or Napoli but to the Premier League. He is close to Tottenham for €30-35m.’
Whilst that doesn’t sound like a ridiculous deal and roughly fits in with the player’s value, nearly all the reports from Italy have put Juventus’ asking price at €20-25m.
Chiesa has less than a year left on his contract with the Turin club and doesn’t want to sign a renewal. That’s obviously put them under a lot of pressure regarding asking price.
Therefore, Tottenham agreeing to pay €30-35m would be surprising. If the claim is correct there’ll obviously be more on this in the coming hours.
