As things stand, Diogo Dalot will return to Manchester United.

The Portuguese defender was sent on loan to Milan to find the minutes he wouldn’t get at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and he did what was asked of him, providing versatility on either side of the centre-backs for Stefano Pioli.

He played a role in the Serie A side qualifying for the Champions League by finishing in the top four, and there’s the possibility he could stay longer.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who, when covering one of Dalot’s posts on Instagram where he says goodbye to Milan, explain in a tweet linking to an article he could just be doing so ‘for now’.

This is because there are currently ‘talks underway for a potential extension’ of the current loan.

We’ll have to see whether or not these come to fruition, but it’s promising for the player, who clearly enjoying himself away from Old Trafford.
