Newcastle United remain interested in a deal for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot as they continue to build and become a force in European football.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Newcastle are in second place in the list of suitors for the French midfielder.
They cover him today amid a superb start to the season for him and Juventus in which he has re-established himself as a key player under Max Allegri.
That comes after a turbulent summer during which it appeared his time at Juventus would come to an end and he would leave on a free transfer.
Newcastle were one of the sides interested in a potential deal at that point, but he ended up staying where he was, signing a new deal and then going on to enjoy something of a reinvigoration.
That’s not completely killed the interest in him, though, and Rabiot remains ‘attractive’ to several clubs, Newcastle among them.
Manchester United are currently at the front of the queue for him but ‘immediately behind’ them are the Magpies, who ‘want to continue to grow’ and believe that adding Rabiot to the mix could help them to do so.
They have the financial resources to satisfy both Juventus and the player, although neither seem keen on a separation after renewing their love this season.
Indeed, Juventus are keen to ensure he signs yet another new deal to lock him down and ward off that interest from the Premier League, which refuses to go away.
