Palmeiras midfielder Danilo is now taking the final steps for his move to Nottingham Forest, the Brazilian media says.
Outlet Globo Esporte writes that the Verdão have already ‘released’ the player so he can sort out the final details of his transfer to the Tricky Trees.
Danilo did not train with Palmeiras’ squad on Friday and will miss their season debut against São Bento at the weekend.
According to the story, the midfielder should travel to England at the weekend, and soon have his medical and sign for Nottingham Forest.
Globo Esporte’s information is that the Reds are paying around €20m for the transfer, with Palmeiras keeping 10% of a future move.
The player had also drawn interest from French side AS Monaco, who were in talks for his signing and had included a player in their offer.
The word in Brazil, however, is that Danilo himself chose Nottingham Forest. Besides having the chance of featuring in the Premier League, he’ll find his former teammate Gustavo Scarpa, who joined the club as a free agent this month.
