Arsenal have been interested in bringing a striker to the Emirates in January, and for the most of the window, and even before that, they were keen on signing Dušan Vlahović.

The Serbian turned down the north London club and sealed a move to Juventus on Friday.

Apart from Vlahović, the Gunners have been linked to other strikers, including Espanyol’s Raúl de Tomás and Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak. They have found it difficult to sign either of them due to their high release clauses.

Vlahović is not the only striker to snub the Premier League side. FcInterNews now explain  that Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca has ‘rejected’ Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.

Inter Milan are showing interest in the 23-year-old. Their ‘path’ to sign the striker has been ‘literally cleared’, with Juve securing Vlahović’s services and Sassuolo working to land Pisca’s Lorenzo Lucca and Catania’s Luca Moro.

BVB offered €45m to the Serie A side to make the Italy international the heir to Erling Haaland. He is represented by Alessandro Lucci, who also manages Juventus’ Dejan Kulusevski.

When the Gunners were discussing the Swede with the agent, they ‘asked for information’ on Scamacca. The latter’s representative told Mikel Arteta’s side his client’s ‘priority’ is to continue in Serie A. Therefore, he turned down any potential chance to join Arsenal.

He now seems closer to Inter as there is ‘already is a draft agreement’ for four or five-year deal worth €2m net per season plus bonuses. The Nerazzurri, however, must find an agreement with Sassuolo to sign Scamacca.
