Manchester United’s failure to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho saw them left scrambling in search of an alternative on deadline day.

Ousmane Dembélé was the main target and the Red Devils wanted to take him on a loan deal.

Barcelona finally agreed to sanction the winger’s transfer on a temporary deal, provided he signed a new contract that would keep him at Camp Nou until 2023.

However, the 23-year-old wasn’t in favour of joining Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and Sport reported on Tuesday that he ‘remained firm in his stance not to go to United’.

According to Catalunya Radio, the Frenchman wants to go to Juventus and that’s ‘one of the reasons why he refused to leave on loan to Manchester United’.

It’s claimed the World Cup winner is ‘already talking’ to the Old Lady to either join them next summer or in 2022, when his contract expires.

Mundo Deportivo have relayed claims made by Catalunya Radio and also give a background about the Serie A winners’ interest in the attacker.

The newspaper states the Turin club’s interest in Dembélé isn’t new as they have been following him for a while.

They even tried to offer Douglas Costa as part of the deal for the former Borussia Dortmund man, most likely in May. Weeks later, Juve again asked about the Barca player and the latter showed his willingness to join them.

Dembélé is of the belief he can ‘regain his best level’ with the Italian champions. Unfortunately for him, the negotiations between the two clubs ‘did not come to fruition’.

Mundo adds the wideman ‘lets himself be loved by Juventus’ and it now remains to be seen whether or not Juventus will take the necessary steps to sign him in the future.
