Chelsea’s ‘blitz’ to sign Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries today gets a new update from the Italian media.

Newspaper La Repubblica (via FC Inter News) backs up the recent rumours which said the Blues had a first offer turned down by the Nerazzurri, who demand between €35m and €40m for the transfer.

The report adds that the player is ‘ready to say yes’ to a move to Stamford Bridge, but for that to happen, the clubs must work to find a deal first.

On La Repubblica’s website, there’s a little more information, with positive details which could lead us to believe that a deal is still possible. They first claim that Chelsea’s initial offer did not have the ‘desired outcome’, as the bid on the table was worth €25m, while Napoli demand at least €35m.

However, it’s also said that the Blues haven’t given up, and with a new contact already scheduled for Thursday, they’ll try to convince Inter Milan of accepting their offer.

Previous reports from Italy had already claimed that Inter Milan would demand €35m for the move, so Chelsea probably knew that when making their first attempt. Now it’s up to them to get closer to that request.
