Manchester City are working on a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer.
Last Wednesday, Alfredo Pedullà reported the English club are in direct talks with PSG to find an agreement. He insisted it was the first time the two teams had made contact for the 26-year-old.
His contract expires in 2026 but has no future at PSG. The stopper is on his way out and Manchester City want to sign him.
RMC Sport report the Italy international has had a phone call with Pep Guardiola. This may have been crucial in helping him reach an agreement with the Citizens.
Having agreed terms with the player, Manchester City have to agree terms with PSG, after making contact. The Ligue 1 winners initially demanded €50m for the former AC Milan man but have now softened their stance.
According to the report, Luis Enrique’s side have lowered their request, considering his current situation doesn’t put them in a strong position. RMC Sport say if the operation goes through, it’ll be at around €30-35m.
PSG lowering the price should come as a boost for Manchester City, who are keen on signing Donnarumma. Guardiola’s side, however, will have to get rid of Ederson before signing the Italian.
Ederson hasn’t featured this season and has an agreement with Galatasaray. They have to agree terms with Manchester City, and this is needed for the 32-year-old’s exit and for the Citizens to sign Donnarumma.
