RC Strasbourg’s Jean-Ricner Bellegarde wants to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on deadline day.
That’s according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who took to Twitter to state the 24-year-old has found an agreement with Wolves over personal terms.
It’s now down to Gary O’Neil’s side to agree a deal with the French club to get the deal over the line.
Earlier this week, journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter reported the Premier League side have made a €15m bid for the Frenchman.
Aouna now claims Wolves are in ‘ongoing negotiations’ with Strasbourg to try to find an agreement for the transfer.
The midfielder, who already has two goals and two assists from three games this season, is pushing for a move, and has decided against extending his contract which expires in 2024.
Wolves have also identified Bellegarde’s club teammate, Habib Diarra, as another midfield target. On Thursday, multiple reports indicated Strasbourg rejected the English club’s €25m bid for Diarra.
It remains to be seen whether Wolves can strike an agreement with Strasbourg to sign Bellegarde, who’s keen to make a switch to Molineux.
