Following all the recent links with Manchester City, Boca Juniors starlet Valentin Barco had a big challenge last night, facing Palmeiras in the Copa Libertadores semifinals.
Despite the 0-0 draw at home, the midfielder did great, and it’s now starting to get impossible not to notice the big potential he shows.
Olé today features a story showing how people were surprised to see him getting replaced after 70 minutes, as Boca Juniors manager Jorge Almiron got booed for the ‘very strange choice’ to remove him.
‘He played very open on the left but also closed to get loose and at times almost played as a false hitch. He was active. And with desire,’ writes Olé.

It’s well known that Boca Juniors want to protect the midfielder with a new contract, but that should only happen after the Copa Libertadores campaign.
