Portuguese fullback Nuno Tavares is on his way to London to complete his move to Arsenal, according to reports from the Lisbon media.

Outlet O Jogo managed to spot the player at the airport, stating he ‘has already left for England’, confirming this morning’s claims that the move to the Gunners could be done today.

Even though previous reports claimed the trip would be done earlier this week, Tavares ended up having his medical yesterday, as reported by local outlets.

The Portuguese media claims the player has already spoken to Mikel Arteta, who ‘welcomed’ him to the Premier League side’s squad.

The printed edition from O Jogo says Tavares also had Covid tests on Thursda, and he’s now set to sign a contract and have ten days of quarantine in London.

As journalist Bruno Andrade also reports the player’s trip, he claims that Arsenal are paying €8m for the transfer, with other potential €2m in add ons.

It’s claimed the fullback already signed a four-year deal with the club, with the option for a further season.
