Earlier on transfer deadline day, it was reported in France that Wolves and RC Strasbourg had ‘reached an agreement’ for the transfer of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.
Wolves have been looking for a replacement for Matheus Nunes and faced a dramatic few hours on Friday as they tried to get deals over the line.
Initially they made an offer worth €8m which was immediately rejected by the French club. Bellegarde himself skipped training and it was clear he wanted the deal to be completed.
France reports then stated the Ligue 1 side wanted around double of what had been offered by Wolves. Those worries didn’t last too long, with the French media quickly reporting an agreement had been reached between the two clubs, with only the formalities remaining.
Nabil Djellit now reports that all the medical tests have been completed, and Bellegarde is set to become a Wolves player.
