Southampton want to wrap up a deal for Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow this weekend, hence his absence from the Dutch’s club’s squad on Sunday.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who report that everyone involved wants Bijlow’s move to Southampton finalised as soon as possible.
Reports throughout this week have linked Southampton with a move for the goalkeeper as they continue to strengthen Russel Martin’s squad.
It’s been made clear that Feyenoord will not stand in Bijlow’s way and are happy to do a deal with Southampton for the right price.
All indications are that the transfer is there to be done and quickly and 1908.nl now report that the focus is on this weekend.
According to their information Southampton and Bijlow want to ‘fully complete’ the transfer deal this weekend. Because of that, Bijlow will be absent from Feyenoord’s squad for their game on Sunday.
Thus, all signs point to a deal being done this weekend and the player perhaps heading for a medical at Southampton this week.
There’s certainly a confidence from the parties involved, as well as a desire to get the player to the South coast.
