Two days ago, we covered claims from the Dutch press that Brighton & Hove Albion’s offer for Olivier Boscagli hasn’t convinced PSV Eindhoven.
There was no mention of the amount proposed by the Seagulls or the fee needed to convince the Dutch club.
Eindhovens Dagblad brings more on that and the latest on Brighton’s efforts to try and sign the 26-year-old.
His deal lasts until 2025, and PSV’s desire is to tie him down to a long-term contract. That has been made difficult because of the Premier League side’s interest.
On Wednesday, Boscagli’s agent flew to Eindhoven for talks with the Eredivisie side. He can be sold this summer, sign an extension or leave as a free agent next year.
The report says PSV want €20m to sanction a sale in this window, while Brighton don’t want to offer more than €10m. ED say the Premier League side’s initial offer was less than that, but a figure hasn’t been mentioned.
Boscagli, for his part, is open to joining Fabian Hürzeler’s side. It’s claimed his contract situation makes the Dutch club feel ‘vulnerable to a robbery’ in the market.
Over at Voetbal International, they say PSV will only let the player leave if their asking price is met.
They make no mention of their request, but ED claim it’s around €20m and Brighton have no plan to match it.
