Leander Dendoncker is ‘open to leaving’ Aston Villa this summer and the club are ‘on the same wavelength’ about his situation.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Aston Villa are ‘ready to listen’ to proposals for the Belgian and move him on from Villa Park.
They explain that the 2022/23 season did not live up to expectations for the Belgian, who had joined Villa from Wolves with high hopes of being a regular and making an impression.
Instead, he managed just eight starts all season, a figure that was too low for his liking and he would now like to leave to find regular playing time elsewhere.
Aston Villa are happy to let him leave and have set an asking price of €10-12m on the midfielder, a number that is low enough to ‘attract a few suitors’ who are in search of reinforcements.
According to FM’s information, there are Premier League and Serie A clubs who ‘have their eye on him’ while several Ligue 1 clubs have ‘taken information’ such as Stade Rennais or OGC Nice.
Lyon were also interested at one point but decided to move for Renato Tapia instead as the Celta Vigo midfielder was a more financially accessible target than Dendoncker.
He shouldn’t be concerned about that, though, as he has plenty of suitors thinking about a move as he looks to leave Aston Villa this summer.
