Last Friday, we covered claims from Italy that Al-Ittihad have agreed personal terms with Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby. A day later, it was said the Saudi Arabian club have made an offer to the Premier League side.
Two days ago, Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari reported the distance in valuation between the two clubs has narrowed, without mentioning any figures.
Longari now took to X to reiterate that the Aston Villa forward has given his approval for the transfer.
He adds the negotiation between the Middle Eastern club and the Villans have ‘entered its final and decisive phase’ for the 25-year-old’s transfer this summer.
In another post on X, the Italian journalist insists that the France international’s exit is in the ‘final stage’.
There’s optimism that Al-Ittihad will get this deal over the line as Longari claims they are ‘one step away’.
Diaby arrived at Villa Park from Bayer Leverkusen in July 2023, and prior to that he rejected an opportunity to move to Saudi. He managed 10 goals and nine assists from 54 games in his first season at Aston Villa.
