Barcelona do not close the door for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave the Camp Nou after Chelsea showed interest in recent days.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who state the 33-year-old’s departure is being negotiated, even though Xavi Hernández continues to count on him.

Barca’s delicate economic situation and Chelsea’s interest may force the former to part ways with the forward.

The next few days will be decisive for the ex-Arsenal man’s future. His sale can help Barca register Jules Koundé and also carry out other signings.

Over at Sport, they have a report on the Gabon international, titled: ‘Aubameyang one step away from Chelsea’. They state he is ‘getting closer to becoming’ a new Blues player.

Although Xavi counts on Aubameyang, he is aware there is no place in Barca’s starting XI following Robert Lewandowski’s arrival.

The attacker is comfortable at Barca, but he’s open to making a switch to London because he can start for the west London club and earn a better salary. A move to Stamford Bridge will also allow him to play in the Champions League.

There was a meeting with the English club’s emissaries yesterday and that should help him polish the details on the contract.

If Aubameyang gives his definitive approval to join Thomas Tuchel’s side, then they are ‘willing to reach’ the €30m fee demanded by the Blaugrana. Another option could be to include Marcos Alonso as part of the deal.

Either way, Sport go on to state the player is ‘approaching Chelsea by leaps and bounds’.
