At the weekend, we covered claims from Spain that Atlético Madrid are optimistic of working out a deal with Chelsea for Conor Gallagher and João Félix.
Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo focuses on Félix and the possibility of him making a switch to Chelsea.
The 24-year-old had a short loan spell at Chelsea in 2023, after his relationship broke down with Diego Simeone.
There was an expectation of a ‘cold war’ between the player and the manager, but that didn’t happen this summer. The forward has changed his attitude and integrated with the squad, but his future seems to be away from the La Liga side.
Mundo say Félix is ‘on the verge of leaving for Chelsea’. It’s further claimed his move to the west London club will ‘soon be effective if nothing goes wrong’. The Blues will offer a fee around €50m including bonuses.
This will see him return to one of his favourite leagues, to try and relaunch his career.
Monday’s edition of AS have a report and their title says, ‘Félix awaits Chelsea’. Within the report, it’s claimed his agent, Jorge Mendes, is working to take his client back to Stamford Bridge.
Barring a last-minute twist, Félix is expected to join Chelsea since all parties are in favour of this deal going through.
