Sassuolo’s Armand Laurienté could be set for a surprise, deadline day move to the Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say Wolves have made a bid for the French forward in the last few hours.
TMW report that an offer, which they don’t provide any details on, has arrived in the last few hours from Wolves for the 25-year-old.
There’s no mention of the nature of the bid, whether it’s a loan deal or a permanent transfer, jus that a bid has been made and Wolves are keen.
That’s all they provide at this point, but he’s not the only forward Wolves are targeting on the final day of the window.
According to Voetbal International, Wolves are also working on a deal with Ajax for Carlos Forbs. According to their information, the two clubs have reached an agreement on a loan deal.
They state that Forbs is on his way to England, where he must agree on the final details of the move with Wolves.
Forbs made it clear he wanted the Premier League side when Lyon also showed an interest, and Wolves made their first move on Friday. A deal was reached in the afternoon. A permanent move is not possible because of financial fair play rules.
Ajax have therefore been creative and worked out a deal that guarantees them an immediate influx of money and then a future fee if Forbs plays a certain amount of games. This could be as low as ten. The purchase option is set at €14m according to reports in England.
There is still a lot of work to be done to finalise the matter, but the paperwork is being done and there is a hope it will be complete before the deadline.
Whether this affects Laurienté or he is being targeted separately isn’t clear but Wolves are at least interested in both and concretely working on Forbs’ arrival.
