On Saturday, we covered reports from Portugal which explained Manu Silva is set to sign for Wolves, and went through the details of what has been something of a rapid transfer operation.

The defensive midfielder joined Vitória de Guimarães from Feirense in 2023 and the 23-year-old gradually grew into his role. He’s played 28 matches so far this season and despite his position has found the back of the net four times and added two assists.

As far as the reports had it, Manu Silva was set to sign for Wolves in a €10m transfer, having rejected previous advances from Mexican club Tigres.

Sunday’s Portuguese newspapers also go over the situation.

O Jogo now explain Manu Silva was pulled from the squad to face Arouca because he’s on the verge of signing for Wolves, with them now putting the fee at €12m plus 10% of a future transfer.

Record’s newspaper edition today says the youngster ‘is indeed leaving for Wolverhampton’, and the transfer will ‘become official very soon’.

A Bola go over Manu Silva being left out of the squad and report he’s moving for €10m plus a potential €2m in bonuses and 15% of a future transfer. They add ‘only details’ are delaying the announcement.

Jornal de Noticias report Manu Silva is ‘on his way’ to Wolves after developments in ‘the past few hours’.
